Time: 10:30 am

Step into Depression Era Jacksonville when you Time Travel to Historic Jacksonville, Inc.’s “Beekman House 1932 Living History”! One-fourth of Americans are unemployed. Jacksonville residents are digging up the streets looking for left over gold. Franklin Roosevelt is promising a “New Deal.” And Ben and Carrie Beekman, the children of Jacksonville’s wealthiest and most prominent pioneer family, are closing up their 1870s family home, going through closets and cupboards, and commenting on 1932 current affairs and life in the late 1800s. The Beekmans will be “receiving guests” at 10:30am, 11:30am, 1pm, and 2pm at their family home at 470 E. California Street in Jacksonville, OR. During a 1-hour “social call,” visitors will be interacting with Carrie, Ben, family members, and friends. Tour admission is $10, and guests can plan their visit at https://historicjacksonville.org/1932-living-history/.
