2022 Haunted History is over for the year but 2023 tickets will go on sale on April 1st!

Join us again next year when we recognized the legacy that Jacksonville pioneers left for us — and that some of our pioneers still linger as well in the forms of spirits and ghosts.

Hear more about these “restless” former residents on Historic Jacksonville’s “Haunted History” walking tours when costumed tour guides share both history and tales of pioneers whose spirits still dwell in many of our historic buildings.

These tours are not your typical ‘ghost tours’ with special effects.   They are history tours about real hauntings resulting from past events.  The stories—some scary, some benign—come from multiple sources, from people who have experienced these lingering spirits.  They are our attempt to recognize and honor these restless souls.

Two completely different 1-hour tours are offered, and both tours include lots of haunted houses!

The Courthouse Tour highlights tales of brothels, epidemics and hangings.

The Britt Hill Tour features stories of murder, arson, saloons, and Oregon’s first Chinatown.

Tours are offered the second Friday of each month from May through September with special October tours on both Friday and Saturday.

Summer tours begin at 7, 7:15, 7:30, 7:45 p.m.
October tours begin at 6, 6:15, 6:30, 6:45, and 7 p.m.

Tours are offered with alternating start times.  Summer tours begin with the Courthouse tour.  October tours begin with the Courthouse on Friday night and the Britt Hill tour on Saturday night.

Private tours can also be scheduled for a minimum of 10 and maximum of 12 people at a cost of $15 per person. Date and time must be mutually agreed upon.

All tours begin at the Jacksonville Visitors Center at the corner of N. Oregon and West C streets.  Tour group size is limited!  Cost is $10 per person.  Information is available by contacting 541-245-3650 or info@historicjacksonville.org.

Tickets can only be purchased on-line and reservations must be made no later than 4 p.m. on tour dates; “walk-ups” will only be accommodated based on space available.  For safety reasons, pets are not allowed.

Please note:  Our goal is to keep everyone healthy so we will be observing whatever mandated and recommended health protocols are in effect at the time of the tours.

DISCLAIMER:  All tour attendees do so at their own risk and waive any liability claims against Historic Jacksonville, Inc. or any volunteer.  This includes illness and injury, as well as loss, damage or theft of property.  Historic Jacksonville, Inc. reserves the right to refuse admission or eject persons at any time.
